Tres son ya las temporadas que El Club de lectura de Torreblanca lleva activo. Cuando su coordinadora, Montse López, hizo la propuesta a la Concejalía de Cultura del Ayuntamiento éste vio con buenos ojos su creación. Les encantó la iniciativa y pusieron de su parte medios para que llegase a buen término con una gran acogida entre los vecinos de la población.
Las reuniones son en la primera planta de la biblioteca cada 15/20 días, dependiendo del libro elegido y de que todos los miembros ya dispongan de él. Es indiferente si se adquiere en papel o se descarga para e-book.
Un Club de Lectura tiene un funcionamiento muy sencillo. Una vez elegido el libro se pone fecha de reunión y es ese día cuando cada miembro pone de manifiesto lo que esa lectura le ha provocado. Es curioso comprobar cómo una misma lectura puede tener visiones tan diferentes: “Eso es maravilloso”, nos comenta la coordinadora, “es muy grato comprobar cómo cada uno ha vivido e interpretado lo que el autor/autora ha transmitido…»
Estos clubes son aptos tanto para aquellos que leen mucho como también para todos aquellos que quieren iniciarse en la lectura. Se intenta que se vayan leyendo temáticas variadas. Muchos que no habían tocado ciertos temas llegan a ellos y quedan gratamente sorprendidos.
Debido a estos tiempos de pandemia las reuniones deben limitarse a un máximo de 6 personas y por tanto se están realizando más para que todos puedan acudir.

It has been 3 years since Torreblanca started their Book Club when Montse López approached the Department of Culture at the city council. They loved her initiative and did their part to bring it to fruition with great response from the residents of the town.
The meetings are on the first floor of the library every 15 to 20 days, depending on the book chosen and, if all members already own it. It doesn’t matter if it is purchased as a book or downloaded as an e-book.
The Book Club rules are easy to follow; once the book is chosen, a meeting date is set and on that day, each member talks about their opinion on the book. It is interesting to see how the same book can create different responses. «This is wonderful», the coordinator tells us, «it is very entertaining to see how each person has interpreted what the author has written …»
These clubs are suitable both for those who read a lot as well as for those who want to start reading. The intention is that various topics will be chosen. Many who have not touched on certain topics are pleasantly surprised when they start to read something different.
Due to the pandemic, meetings are to be limited to a maximum of 6 people therefore more meetings are being held so that everyone can attend.
